2 Coronavirus Cases Reported At Lindenhurst Middle School
Two staff members at the local school tested positive for the virus on Monday.
LINDENHURST, NY — Two Lindenhurst Middle School faculty members, one of which also teaches at Lindenhurst Academy, tested positive for coronavirus, school officials announced on Monday.
"While we are not at liberty to share any information regarding these particular cases, I’m certain you would all join me in sending our thoughts and well wishes to them and their families.
As you know, district schools have been closed for 10 days," Superintendent Daniel Giordano announced in a letter to the community. "I would like to remind you that prior to and during that 10-day period all buildings have been thoroughly disinfected in accordance with the guidelines provided by the Department of Health."
Lindenhurst district schools have already been closed to students for 10 days. Last Sunday, Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone announced that all public and private K-12 schools in the county have been ordered to close for two weeks.

During that 10-day period, the school district have been thoroughly disinfecting all buildings in accordance with the guidelines provided by the Department of Health.
The Department of Health advises that any individuals who need medical care should call their medical providers to report their illnesses prior to seeking care at a clinic, physician’s office, or hospital. In addition, anyone exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms is asked to call the New York State Coronavirus Hotline at 1-888-364-3065.
