100 Firefighters Battle Harlem Blaze; No Injuries: FDNY

A fire has spread to multiple floors of a Harlem apartment building Friday morning, but no injuries have been reported.

HARLEM, NY — A fire in a Harlem apartment building Friday morning has spread to multiple floors and prompted a large emergency response, authorities said.

Flames broke out shortly after 10:30 a.m. on the first floor of 52 St. Nicholas Ave., a five-story apartment building on the corner of West 113th Street, an FDNY spokesperson said.

It was elevated to a two-alarm fire as it spread to the second floor through a wall, the FDNY said.

More than 106 firefighters across 25 units have responded to the fire, and were still working to contain it by 11:21 a.m.

No injuries have been reported, the FDNY said.

Videos posted to the Citizen app showed a convoy of firetrucks surrounding the block.
