Rockville Among Happiest Cities To Work In The U.S.: Study

The City of Rockville recently placed on a list of 10 happiest cities to work in the U.S.

ROCKVILLE, MD — The City of Rockville recently placed ninth on a list of 10 happiest cities to work in the U.S. by CareerBliss.

The top 10 is drawn from the job-search site’s “thousands of independent company reviews by actual employees, analyzing the key factors that impact workplace happiness,” the study says.

Rockville is listed alongside cities that include the top three of Mountain View, California; Detroit, Michigan; and Boulder, Colorado.

"CareerBliss has also noted that when cities provide opportunities for higher education, personal growth, and year-round activities, they are more likely to have happier residents and employees," Chief Happiness Officer and CareerBliss Co-founder Heidi Golledge stated in an online post about the rankings.

According to a statement from the city, Rockville is one of Maryland's most well-educated towns and over 64 percent of residents have a college education.

Rockville was recently chosen by Money magazine as the best place to live in the state of Maryland. The report lists project job growth for Rockville at 5.75 percent, and median household income at $100,158.

"One of Maryland's oldest towns is also one of the state's largest—and with low unemployment and an ultralow crime rate, it continues to attract newcomers," the report read.
