The Daily Iowan was named national Newspaper, Online, and Multiplatform Pacemaker winners by the Associated Collegiate Press on Oct. 30 and was one of only three college news organizations in the country to win all three awards.
The DI was joined by the State News (Michigan State) and Elon News Network in sweeping the top three Pacemaker awards, considered the Pulitzer Prize of college journalism.
"It's a tremendous accomplishment that showcases the all-around strength and talent of our student journalists," says Daily Iowan Publisher Jason Drummond.
The DI also swept the three awards in 2022. The six Pacemaker awards the DI has won in the last two years are the most for any college news organization in the country.
For the top awards, the DI was:
- One of 12 to win the Newspaper Pacemaker
- One of 20 to win the Online Pacemaker
- One of 14 to win the Multiplatform Pacemaker
