SAN ANTONIO - An overnight crash Sunday downtown resulted in a motorcyclist suffering several broken bones and while the cause is unclear, authorities say alcohol certainly played a factor.

It happened around 1:30 a.m. in the 600 block of the Tower of Americas Way near the eponymous site and the UT Institute of Texan Culture (ITC). According to officials, when they arrived, an unidentified man was found on the ground and his crashed out motorcycle.

Currently, investigators say it's unclear exactly how the accident transpired but believe alcohol played a factor in the crash, where the rider was thrown from his motorcycle, where he suffered serious injuries and several broken bones.

The man was rushed to the San Antonio Military Medical Center but his current status is unknown at this time.

This is a developing story.
