Lightning strikes tree, sparks fire in Stayton

STAYTON, Ore. - A tree off of Boedigheimer Road, just east of the Stayton/Sublimity area was struck by lightning at about 3:30 pm. on Saturday afternoon, causing the tree to go up in flames.

Sublimity Fire District responded and put out the fire, along with neighboring Stayton Fire District.
