These youngsters' lives, initially fairly quiet and joyful, quickly become filled with suffering and death. Even surviving is hard, and finding happiness and a safe place in such a dark, merciless world seems impossible. Thankfully, a revolutionary group might come in their aid.
Being shounen, both series are pretty lenghty and focus on themes of friendship/family and the importance of teamwork, as well as the training and strategies to defeat the hideous monsters.
