Personally I couldn't stand it after a while and chose to drop it. There were parts I liked and parts I disliked, and the parts i disliked felt really drawn out and excessive (basically torture porn, cruelty for the sake of cruelty and shock value). Could have stuck it out, but it felt like no matter what turn of events or what good stuff would come afterwards it wasn't worth all that, clashed too much with my personal tastes.
I did ask for your opinion on it though so :)

I still wonder sometimes if i didn't give it a "fair chance", since I missed some of the more crucial and talked about events (including major events for one of the most popular and beloved characters).

I'm not familiar with either of the works you listed but I looked them up. "I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream" actually sounded horrible but kind of interesting, in a twisted kind of way. I'm surprised you read that kind of stuff, and I'm guessing you'll have no trouble with Re:zero then.

Anyway, no need to speed ahead on my behalf but if you do get around to it then let me know what you think :)
