Babylonia ialah sebuah peradababan kuno yang terletak di kawasan tengah-selatan Mesopotamia. Ibu negara bagi tamadun, Babylon, yang bermaksud Pintu kepada tuhan-tuhan.[Penjelasan diperlukan] Kawasan Mesopotamia termasuk Sumer, Akkad, dan Assyria. Kawasan ini sangat penting kerana menjadi salah satu tempat terawal di mana manusia hidup bersama-sama dalam satu peradaban. Penduduk di Babylonia, atau orang Babylon, memiliki satu bahasa penulisan yang digunakan oleh mereka bagi mempelajari perkara-perkara berkaitan dunia di sekeliling mereka. Mereka sebenarnya merupakan orang pertama yang menulis dari kiri ke kanan, dan banyak membuat dokumen-dokumen bertulis.
