A brilliant game that prioritises exploration over all else. The town of Babbdi is endlessly replayable especially as the different movement options make you see the landscape differently. Great fun. 10/1O must play

Reposting a comment I left on the video that introduced me to this game:

Returned to thank you: I discovered BABBDI through this video and it has had a profound influence on me.

It's hard to put the atmosphere of this game into words. It's at once abandoned and inhabited, strange and familiar...

It seems like one of the strangest dreams I've had, except it's been brought into physical reality as a work of art.

It feels like a rough sketch / prototype and yet due to being vague and dreamlike, it's exactly the right level of detail.

Suggestion: VR Support. I know It's a dauting task but this game would be perfect for VR.

actually a fan already made a working vr mod, just not released yet, so maybe soon !

biaddi there two windmill and with the moto car i am

Awesome game, really enjoyed it! The level design is great and the tools are very creative. Also crazy you made the map in blender, I can't even make maps 1/4 this size without getting lost in the interface.

hello lemaitre!

im interested in making a port of the babbdi map as a mod for Bonelab, (fortunately also a unity game) but i have no clue where i can get the map. will the map ever be made public (e.g. on Github) or do i have to search around the discord for the open source version to get the map myself?

thanks alot!

Friends, I came from watching a video about this beauty, I'm going to try to convince a Mexican Youtuber with a television head to play this thing, and if I can I'll also make a guy called Masterlasheron know about the existence of this, I don't promise anything, but that I'm going to try, I'll try, the fact that you can break it so intentionally easily makes it very entertaining.

let's go Ultimo TV-Nauta!!!

are you okay with fanworks?

(+1)

yes !

hi, so seeing as the game on steam is for all major platforms, how come you only have the windows version here? i'd much rather buy it here to support you but i'm on mac os..

(+2)

hii lemaitre!
i got some questions regarding babbdi

1) will we ever get the source code of babbdi for things like modding and fangames? (its really difficult to decompile the game fsr)
2) how babbdi actually started?
3) what did you use to create the babbdi map?

Hello babbdi !

1) the game was open source on github during two weeks last month but we had to remove it because it had paid assets in it so only few people in the community have the source code, mostly moders, maybe if you come into the discord server you could get it

2) babbdi started as a fun summer holiday project, and we released it in december, 4 months after starting it ! my brother and me wanted to make a short project together for fun and experience.

3) we used blender to make the map and the level design, and then added some props in the unity editor

hope that answers well your questions !

played this on steam, absolutely amazing

aplausos para esto

You can grab a leafblower and a flashlight, spam the left mouse button and get a machine gun with muzzle flash. I can't wait to combine the helicopter stick and the motorcycle and see how fast I can go.

Edit: so I turned myself into this... I had 3-4 trombones, flashlights, 2 leafblowers but sadly only one helicopter stick.

I absolutely love how much has been packed into just one area, Great game

I like this game

Uhh I think I broke the game too much

At first it was Me finding a way to hold 2 items at once. The next day opening the game had problems. I then deleted and redownloaded the game, only to find things like this. I was able to go through some solid objects and platforms, able to go past the invisible barrier allowing me to get to that ship in the distance.

I think something about the files being messed up or something.

No need to worry now, I got it fixed by myself, works fine now.

But now I wanna know how to change the textures with only a chromebook...

this is EPIC , Great , Amazing , Weird , no words enough to describe it ❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️

Is it possible to have the linux build of the game downloadable here? Lutris is unable to save the game files for the windows executable, and I don't want to have steam installed on my system just for this game.

Loved this! Thank you for making it.

(+2)

This is the best game I have ever played.

thanks bro

Amazing game, love the movement system and the overall feel.

I have a question for you tho, what country is the Lemaitre Bros from? My brother said it was Russia, my friend said it was Italy, and the internet said it was France..?

(+1)

played it on steam, very good must say

Great game! I love the unsettling feeling it gives even though this isn't a horror game.

Great exploration game!

Pretty surreal, and there was a lot to explore. Very good concept.

(+2)

played this at 2am
had some super dope dreams that night

A really cool little game with an intense and weird ambiance in a strange post soviet concrete city that you'll have to escape with tight platforming mechanics and exciting items.

I love the motorcycle! Such a surreal game! Love it!

Scary but cool game ->

BABBDI 2 WHEN?????? Add multiplayer so I can explore BABBDI with friends!!!!

omfg thats a really cool idea, cant wait for modders to do it lol

(1 edit) (+2)

I liked the BABBDI atmosphere especially. BABBDI is also a type of art i think. Please make a sequel with bigger map and with many many interesting persons in it. This is so fresh. Explore, explore... But way too short! We need more games like this with a different level, a different view. Nice and also weird kind of art. Thank you much. PS: What does Babbdi mean? I bet, it is wrong spelled like ttaiston for station.

(+2)

This is so...cozy. Actually, I enjoyed wandering through the city. Everyone seems so quiet... I love it.

(+1)

had fun getting all of the achievements on steam interesting to explore

overall : 8/10
