Ms. Houda Kaffela, received in 2011 her Bachelor's Degree in Business Computer Science from the University of Tunis El Manar and in 2013 her Master’s Degree in Software Engineering from the Higher Institute of Computer Science of Tunis (ISI). She is currently employed as a doctoral researcher at the RIADI Laboratory, National School of Computer Sciences, University of Manouba-Tunisia. Her research interests are focused in the fields of Software Engineering, enterprise information systems and Business Intelligence. In particular, her expertise includes requirement engineering and conceptualization and development of information systems.

This work presents a method to bridge the gap between intentional process modeling and business p... more This work presents a method to bridge the gap between intentional process modeling and business process modeling. The first represent the business objectives of an enterprise and the strategies used in order to achieve these objectives, while the second concentrate on the business processes. The proposed method uses MAP as an intentional modeling language and Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) as a modeling language for the business processes. We propose to translate the strategic goals expressed with MAP model into a BPMN process diagram. We show that an alignment of the intentional model (MAP) with BPMN can support the designers in transforming easily the strategic goals into business operational goals. We also show in this work, an example illustrating the use of our mapping.

This study is attempting to suggest a way to translate strategic objectives into operational busi... more This study is attempting to suggest a way to translate strategic objectives into operational business goals. The main objective is more precisely to discuss the mappings that might be done between intention-oriented language and business process modeling language in order to align the intentional level with the operational level. In our view, such an alignment between these levels can help the software designers in transforming easily the business requirements into business process descriptions. The idea is to propose an approach of a mapping bridging the gap between a model of requirement and a model of business. This approach is illustrated using MAP as an intention-oriented language mainly intended to describe business requirements in intentional level. The first application of this language concerns the field of Information System Engineering in order to model process on a flexible way and Business Process Modeling Language (BPMN) as a graph-oriented modeling notation targeted to model business goals in operational level. Based on these mappings, an example is presented that is illustrating the translation from the MAP process model element to BPMN.
