  • -Another certified Crow's Nest banger. Very frenetic and intense! -Movement and shooting being independent already make it better than like 95% of rail shooters out there?? lmao -Flowers in stage 1 and coins look too similar -Bullet patterns are mostly kinda mindless with circle strafing but not that big of a deal. Maybe it's even for the better, so we can focus on chaining a bit more? Not sure. Well it's not like I never got hit or anything though, so maybe not so mindless heh -Maybe charge shot hold input should not override regular shot in the specific case the charge isn't actually ready yet (but override it when ready)...but then players would maybe hold both mouse buttons a lot which probably sucks oops -Chain timers seem pretty tight, especially since the timer doesn't lie to the player with any kind of hidden added leniency at the end lmao. And also the distance for charge shots to travel in the Z axis counts and timer isn't frozen or anything when firing charge shot. It seems a bit frustrating but also sells the depth axis even more and makes you think about target Z position, so it's probably good -Lots of things to think about with charge attacks, chains, coin autocollect, speedkills, etc. Just reading the tutorial screens, you already feel the game is gonna be really good. And it absolutely delivers on that expectation -Great music remixes, multiple stage BGs for a very cool feeling of a journey even in such a short game Definitely the standout entry of the jam in my book!

Not sure why this won. I heard this team got the deadline to move ahead, but why?

It looks a bit like Space Harrier meets the default Scratch sprite library.  Space Harrier is super trippy, but the magic mushrooms bringing you there are giving a nice trip. This magic mushrooms for this trip leave you with a big headache. It is a major clash of graphical styles. Luckily the yellow Arial text has gone since the original deadline, but to extend it just for a font?

Good stuff! Shockingly not laggy at all on the WebGL build. Maybe slightly difficult to tell when things coming at you because of the camera perspective, but it's not really an issue once you get used to it.

Reminds me a bit of Space Harrier. I like the chain mechanic and all of the juicy visual effects and sound effects.

Cool game, although very laggy.  Also, the controls were unclear.

Hmm, as far as lagginess goes, can I ask if this was on the web build or the desktop build?

both, most unity games are laggy on my laptop.
