Interesting "take". The story leads up to the game in a nice way. However I don't think it really incorporated the dungeon in a deep way. Would be nice if the action in the dungeon was more closely related to an actual scenery than a normal dungeon combat. Anyway, graphics looks nice and it was kinda fun to play. I do think the combat was a bit to hard though or un-ballanced. Used up all my health items but still died.

Short but sweet. The graphics, including the character/monster art is charming and funny (the snake costume gave me a good laugh), reminded me of Scott Pilgrim in a way. The movement is solid and the combat was pretty basic but it got the job done. I liked how the lighting was provided like a movie set based on the intro of the game.

Overall pretty good! Would love to see more.

"Let's go for lunch break."

This is short but what's there is all good. I really like the silly premise, the 3d part looks good, the 2d part even better and the music is nice and appropriate. Movement feels good and I really like that you can haste combat by mashing the mouse. You don't have many options in combat but I like resource management and taking care of picking the consumables in the corner I had just enough to complete the game (I think you can't use items out of combat?) so it was tense and fun to play too.

This was a cool entry, thanks for sharing.

Thanks for playing our game! Even though it's really pared down from the original concept, I'm glad that you still had a good time with it :)

I like the cute illustrations of the characters and monsters. I also enjoyed the talk scenes. I felt the dungeons were a bit short. I wanted them to let me explore a little more. But it was a pretty game and fun to play.

Developer

Thanks so much for playing! The level was a little bit small due to time constraints (and this being our first game jam), but in a (possible) future update we'd love to make a bigger and more exciting dungeon!

Short but by no means too short-the story/humor really carries this one, alongside the art. The level design is nice (although the dark areas might be just a bit too dark) and having all the 'monsters' clearly be people in costume is quite funny. Does feel a little weird how just fleeing from everything but the final boss is basically the best strategy though, given the scenario.

You can watch my playthrough here:

Thanks so much for taking the time to record your playthrough! The optimal strategy was (as you can probably tell) unintentional, but maybe if more people had left their lunches laying around in the level that probably wouldn't have been the case.

(And the story and art were mostly me so thanks again ;))

Possibly my favorite entry so far!
Very polished and great sense of humor.  Combat was fun and actually a good challenge.  It was short enough that starting over did not seem like a chore.  I actually think you hit something very clever with making it a TV show.  I just love the guy in the snake suit too, and kudos for making each encounter unique.  It all adds up.

Developer(+1)

That's some high praise! Thank you very much ^_^

I wanted to channel the spirit of earnest low budget productions with the enemies, so I'm glad the lowest effort one (in-universe, not IRL) ended up being the favourite.

Quite short, but very charming. Love the art style, and the little reminders that you’re on set, like when attempting to flee the boss. Like others, I also noticed the satisfying pace and feel of movement after just a single step.

On the other hand, the combat gameplay is a bit too simple (so is mine), and as I’m sure you know, there’s currently too little incentive to fight anything other than the boss. Could definitely be taken further.

Thanks for playing! The original concept for combat involved the use of a style meter (DMC-style) and using different moves to pull off combos. We didn't get time to implement it :( Hopefully we'll be able to expand on this game in the future.

You know, there's not much I love more in this world than punching my cobra.

And don't forget being slapped by tentacles.

Maybe I'm just a jaded dirty old man, but I'm pretty sure I was just recruited to do a weird cosplay porn in a sex dungeon.

But hey... gotta pay those bills somehow.

Also, I think the movie will be big in japan.

Good, if disturbing, game.

Developer

Mate, I'm pretty sure you made those disturbing horrors yourself. This is a perfectly PG production.

Seriously, this comment has made my night XD

That was afunny entry, but so difficult. The Jamthulu always finished me. Are there weapons to become stronger before facing him? The cobra guy was so hilarious :)
The graphic are very nice, as ist the sound and I really liked the movement, especially the right amount of head bobbing.

Developer

There are hidden items on the ground you can collect, eating them restores hit points. You're also able to run from any battle except for Jamthulu, so if you're low on health you can skip battles you don't want to fight.

This was short and sweet! Loved the concept of a televised ancient ruins delve. And the monsters were endearing, especially the cobra :D Movement was smooth, combat was fine! Had a good time, you could make it into a longer story!

Developer

We might! We had tonnes of ideas for how we could continue the story and additional game mechanics that would make the game more interesting that we didn't have time to implement. If enough people are interested in us expanding the game we'd be happy to develop it further some time in the future!

Short and cute! The art is really nice and everything working, although it's been a bit too dark to make out the items you need to collect at time.

Developer

Thanks for the comment! We'll keep that in mind for future builds. (Hopefully they can afford better stage lights on set.)
