224 Hikvision Products Banned for One Year by South Korea
The South Korean government has revoked authorizations for 224 Hikvision products over forged test reports, forcing Hikvision to withdraw the products for at least a year.
Hikvision had by far the largest number of products affected, first among 378 companies investigated. Dahua and Uniview had 21 and 19 products recalled, respectively, ranking 12th and 13th.
This adds to Hikvision's operational woes, with (coincidentally) the US FCC planning to ban new Hikvision authorizations and considering revoking existing ones for national security reasons.
In this note, IPVM examines what happened, which products are affected (including a spreadsheet of Dahua, Hikvision, and Uniview products revoked), and the impact on Hikvision.
