Thai traditional computer keyboard layouts are derived from the Thai typewriter keyboard's la... more Thai traditional computer keyboard layouts are derived from the Thai typewriter keyboard's layout, which supports typing with ten fingers. Hence, this layout is not optimized for typing on touch screen device with one finger. This article presents a new method in arrangement the position of Thai characters on the virtual keyboard to support typing by a single finger. The process of the new method consist of analysing Thai Language to create difference digraph table from Benchmark for Enhancing the Standard of Thai language processing corpus (BEST corpus), designed keyboard layout using evolutionary computation technique and estimated time speed of typing by model human hand movement with Fitts' Law. The experiment shows that new keyboard designed by the proposed method has achieved a typing speed faster than the Thai traditional keyboard layout.

This technology can help people all over the worldaccess computers through systems that use gaze control and especially important for people with physical disability. This research presents a system of assistive technology base on an eye-tracking interface while supported the communication system for independent living of persons with disabilities usability. The primary method of this system consists of a selection of pictogram buttons on three websites, which used a low-cost eye-tracking device. The evaluation used the throughput of standards for computer pointing devices as a measurement of user performance to look at an on-screen target and dwell on it for 500ms for selection. The primary function of this technology is based on a device that tracks the movement of the eye to identify a position or scan a display. Suitable devices for eye movement can then be integrated in concordance with the requirements of the organization. Currently, eye tracking devices are becoming increasingly cheaper which make them an interesting resource for research. Also to install, transfer knowledge from research to member of community, test and evaluate the system. The system developed by Joomla version 1.7 and tool of technology web 2.0. And the system is installed on the internet server. To evaluate the satisfaction, the 2 groups are the samples. The first is the group of 5 operation users and second is the groups of 30 participator in research knowledge transfer project. The results of research show that the system can be installed in real working and suit the user requirement. And the satisfaction of the first group is a high level. For the satisfaction of second group is highly. After that, second group can apply knowledge from research to manage data and patent of 3 web sites.

This paper presents a system of assistive technology based on video-oculography (VOG) control int... more This paper presents a system of assistive technology based on video-oculography (VOG) control interfaces, namely “Ophapasai”. The system designed specifically for disabled people communicate with the people that surround them. The primary method of this system consists of a selection of pictogram buttons within the circular menu-augment on the screen, which used an inexpensive video-oculography device. The results indicate that Ophapasai was used to support a number of communication functions (100%). Furthermore, we also conducted an evaluation of performance for pointing video-oculography device with three participants of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The evaluation used throughput of standards for computer pointing devices as measurement of user performance in a multi-direction point and select task which found, participants can pointing and selection their overall mean throughput was 2.02 bits/s.
