Peter Harrison
Peter D'Arcy Harrison received his BA and MA in Anthropology from the University of Toronto and his PhD from Pennsylvania in association with the Tikal Project. Major field work has included 50 months at Tikal, Guatemala for the University of Pennsylvania, 3 seasons in Quintana Roo, Mexico (Uaymil Survey Project) for the Royal Ontario Museum (Canada), and 2 seasons at Pulltrouser Swamp in northern Belize with the University of New Mexico. Volumes published include: "Lords of Tikal" (Thames and Hudson, 1999; paperback edition, 2000); "Pulltrouser Swamp: The Settlement Maps" (with R. E. Fry, Utah, 2000); "Vision and Revision in Maya Studies" (edited with Flora Clancy, New Mexico 1990); "Pulltrouser Swamp: Ancient May Habitat, Agriculture, and Settlement in Northern Belize" (edited with B.L. Turner, Texas Press, 1983; re-issued in paperback, Utah, 2000); "Prehispanic Maya Agriculture" (edited with B.L. Turner, New Mexico, 1978); "Tikal, City of Wealth and Power: A Walking Guide to the Ruins of Tikal" (co-authored with Juan Pedro Laporte, Asociacion Tikal, Guatemala, 2005): and 36 major contributed papers to edited volumes. Affiliations have included: Research Professor, Maxwell Museum, University of New Mexico; Research Associate, MARI, Tulane University; and The University of Pennsylvania Museum.
