It is based on integrating three critical elements such as reference curriculum, teaching methodology, and online support capabilities. By using qualitative research through correlating critical analysis of relevant sources, logical scheme, and cognitive task analysis, each descriptive element is analysed in order to provide an eloquent image of the proposed conceptual model. Also, to gain real feedback on the proposed model as well as on its constitutive elements, the quantitative research using statistical data grouping is performed. The analysis and interpretation of the collected data demonstrate not only a high interest in the designed conceptual model, but also a positive impact at the level of each descriptive element on the academic staff and students from the military and civilian university environment.

Upskilling and reskilling are crucial in a volatile environment that demands a digital mindset. The paper aims to delineate the key challenges and opportunities presented by emerging and disruptive technologies (EDT) concerning the labor market and to identify the top skills required for thriving in the 4IR business environment. Some guidelines are also offered for organizations and managers regarding the necessity to embrace a holistic approach and promote digital IQ, digital dexterity, and employee career development. To prevent a digital divide in a disruptive technological landscape, a comprehensive and responsible skilling strategy is required. ELearning platform allows assisted instruction in technical systems, it can solve theoretical problems on their construction, planning, organizing and managing the production and maintenance activities etc., by linking content with practical production training. In the paper is conducted a case study in a category of technical systems, which highlights the fast and effective training opportunities, advantages and limitations of such a teaching platform. In the first basic level, general organization is shown on large components with significant role in ensuring the main functions for which it is intended and appropriate technical system, concepts and informati...

The need for sudden, unplanned and unprepared changes revealed serious problems related to the phenomenon of digitalization of education. This paper is based on qualitative research, which allowed describing in detail the many aspects related to the quality of the eLearning process in terms of the main stakeholders directly and indirectly involved. Root cause analysis, addressed by the authors in this paper, as part of a larger project that aims to continuously improve online teaching and learning in the "Nicolae B?lcescu" Land Forces Academy in Sibiu, allowed identifying and understanding the causes and sub-causes. In order to visualize them as user-friendly as possible, we used the facilities of the MindManager program. Following the analysis, a more complete picture of what happened in the eLearning process in the context of COVID-19 pandemic was obtained. The information collected through the qualitative research, based on the tools highlighted in the paper, allowed identifying best practices and lessons learned, which would later be shared internally - within the Academy - and externally - with partners. The paper ends with a series of solutions that can contribute to the continuous improvement of eLearning. These data can be efficiently processed and analyzed by intelligent techniques and algorithms to generate useful insights into the students’ performance, such as to identify the factors impacting the progress of successful students or the performance of the students who are struggling in their courses and are at risk of failing. Such a framework is scarce in the current literature. This study proposes an interpretable framework to generate useful insights from the data produced by e-learning platforms using machine learning algorithms. The proposed framework incorporates predictive models, as well as regression and classification models to analyze multiple factors of student performance. Classification models are used to systematize normal and at-risk students bas...

The purpose of the present paper is to analyze a set of challenges and opportunities of the workforce and workplace ecosystems in the context of 4IR. Innovation – as key ingredient of scaling-up processes – and the widespread implementation of specific 4IR technologies will lead to substantial, sometimes even disruptive changes of the labor market, but also to the workforce and workplace ecosystems’ transformation. Among others, artificial intelligence (AI), smart robotics, and intelligent automation are emerging technologies that dramatically change the ways of work, productivity, but also the types and number of available jobs. This paper has a few specific objectives: summarizing the main technologies and tools specific to 4IR and Industry 4.0; analyzing the maj...

The paper describes the steps followed to create a scenario used for online teaching activities during the pandemic, using the facilities of the Centre for Modelling and Simulation of Military Actions. The scenarios were created by using two modelling and simulation software - JCATS (Joint Conflict and Tactical Simulation) for constructive simulation and the VBS (Virtual Battlespace) for virtual simulation.

The study carried out in this article aims to analyze student engagement by taking into account attendance logs, reviewing the content and grades obtained in a technical course of a number of 102 individuals. The collected data were processed in the customized / individualized reports extracted from the Moodle platform. The results of this study highlight the importance of teachers’ involvement in creating and adapting content so that students are directly involved in learning, remain active and motivated. The result of the study underlines the elements that can be used for increased students’ engagement.

The site should recognize what device it is displayed on and automatically respond to user preferences. This approach comes to the aid of those who were forced to do a lot of versions of the site, so that it can be accessed from the iPad, Blackberry, Kindle, netbook, iPhone and so on[1], and becomes today a necessity. While using the same code and URL, a responsive website can provide an optimum viewing experience-without resizing, panning or scrolling on most of the devices. Web designers approached approach the new challenge with many and various solutions. To keep up with the transformations emerging in web design, this article intends to discuss the issues applied to the Land Forces Academy's official site.
