Dr. Ines Oueslati is an Engineer in hydraulics and rural management (2004) from the National Agronomic Institute of Tunisia (INAT), holding a MSc in Land and Water resources: Irrigated Agriculture (2006) from the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari (CIHEAM-Bari - Italy). She has a PhD (2010) in Water and Land Management Engineering from the Polytechnico di Torino (Italy) concerning the development of Methodologies for the determination of the spatial distribution of soil hydraulic properties. In 2012 she served the Faculty of science of Bizerte (Tunisia) as an assistant professor in Geomatics during three years then in 2015 till now she is an assistant professor in Hydraulic engineering at INAT. She was involved in several research fields through national and international projects. Mainly, irrigation system performance and its relation with groundwater assessment from collective to catchment scale as a member of the team work of CIHEAM-Bari (2007- 2008) within the European project FP6 Aquastress (Mitigation of water stress through new Approches to Integrating Management, Technical, Economic and Institutional Instruments). Moreover, she worked on the evaluation of the current and future water balance of the Merguellil catchment (Kairouan-Tunisia), based on cropland area, groundwater use and water management, using the WEAP (Water Evaluation And Planning System) model (2010-2012) in the frame work of the EP FP7 WasserMed (Water Availability and Security in Southern EurRope and the MEDiterranean). She worked also on water resources Management within AMETHYST-ANR project (2015-2017) (water resources and uses evolution in the Southern Mediterranean) and actually she is the national coordinator of the European Project WaterWorks 2017 intitled IN-WOP (Mind the Water Cycle Gap: Innovating Water Management Optimisation Practice) from 2019 to 2023.
