  1. Ruse, Michael (2009): Charles Darwin on human evolution
In the Origin of Species, Charles Darwin says little about human evolution, other than to assert firmly that we humans did evolve and are part of the interrelated natural world along with all other organisms. ... In the Descent, Darwin makes it very clear that he thinks human thinking and actions, especially in the moral realm, have an evolutionary origin just as much as our physical nature.

  2. Jon Ander Garibi & Alvaro Antón & José Domingo Villarroel (2021): Information about Human Evolution: An Analysis of News Published in Communication Media in Spanish between 2015 and 2017
The present study examines a sample of 220 pieces of news related to human evolution, written in Spanish and published over a period of two years, both in digital and print media. The aim of this study is to assess the rigor and coherence of the information in the news in our sample with scientific knowledge on the theory of evolution. To this end, errors and the incorrect use of concepts related to biological evolution are identified, classified according to criteria resulting from the review of previous studies, and finally, the frequency of errors identified in news published in print media is compared with that identified in digital media. ... Results are discussed within the frame of the important role that scientific journalism plays in the processes of knowledge dissemination, in this case, related to human evolution.

  3. SAVEANU MIRCEA (2013): Natural Capital, Human Evolution And The Propensity Towards Preserving Nature
This paper seeks to add to the growing body of research on sustainability, by bringing in an interdisciplinary view, with focus on psychology. Key recent research in other fields, such as biology and anthropology is outlined, and the implications on the two main paradigms of sustainability are presented. Building on these implications from other fields of study, we denote the affinity one has for the natural environment as propensity towards preserving nature. This can be a useful tool for implementing sustainable development strategies, as well as gauging the general attitude towards protecting the natural environment and conservation of natural resources. Most importantly, it introduces the field of environmental psychology to the economics debate on sustainability.

  6. Chu, Angus C. (2024): A Malthusian model of hybridization in human evolution
Early modern humans interbred with archaic humans. To explore this phenomenon, we develop a Malthusian growth model with hybridization in human evolution. Our hunting-gathering Malthusian economy features two initial human populations. ... During this natural-selection process, a hybrid human population emerges and survives in the long run. This finding explains why modern humans still carry DNA from archaic humans.
