McClelland, Jencks Recognized as Big Ten Gymnasts to Watch

Nebraska gymnasts Sophia McClelland and Whitney were dubbed Big Ten Gymnasts to Watch on Wednesday.

McClelland had an impressive junior campaign. In 2024, she earned second-team All-Big Ten for the second time in her career. She saw new personal bests on beam (9.950) and floor exercise (9.925). McClelland also claimed eight event titles throughout the season.

Jencks had a strong freshman season, competing in every meet for the Huskers. She notched career highs of 9.900 on bars, 9.850 on beam and 9.875 on floor.

NU will open its season at the Nashville Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 4 at 4:05 p.m. Season tickets are available for purchase here.
