And make all file items take a greater height, for fast scrolling.

How about adding an option not to truncate file names at all, which would also disable fast scrolling? I personally do not care for fast scrolling at all, but not being able to see full file names right away is a major drawback.

Just two lines may not be enough, especially on smaller screens.
