It seems v3 as been on the works for some time and hasn't had much activity? Any eta on release date or maybe if an alpha version can be released?

Is this much work to bring it to support vue 3? Do you accept PR's to do that for you?

We really appreciate this library and need it to support vue 3 before we can upgrade our project to vue 3.

You could check out this. Looks like someone took this library and converted to Vue 3. I just tried it out and works great!
