Can't get it to work on Iphone #1
Comments
Hi there,
To use this script: (I assumed users know about these stuff)
- your windows 10 PC and your iphone have to be in one same LAN network.
(phone must be in wifi)
- you have python on PC
now,
see what your PC's LAN IP is, for example 192.168.1.2
see what your iphone's wifi LAN IP is, for example 192.168.1.3
from that link you post, I assume you have socks proxy listening on PC
on port 16666, i.e. 192.168.1.2:16666
so run this command on pc:
python proxymyphone.py 192.168.1.2 16666 SOCKS
then it will give you an URL.
go to iphone's wifi setting, click the wifi network name you are
connected to.
find "proxy" and set it to "auto".
type the URL in and save setting.

Thanks mate, Request header: 192.168.1.3:9010 CFNetworkAgent (unknown version) CFNetwork/897 ----> .4 is my iPhone IP address. p.s: My PC is on wifi too, do i need to plug the LAN Cable for that to work maybe? I have Putty running with the SSH tunneling thing as shown in that guide link and the port I'm actually using is 9090 so the command i wrote was : python.exe proxymyphone.py 192.168.1.3 9090 SOCKS Please let me know if there is something I'm missing out. Many thanks ! |
-. after saving proxy setting on iphone, try turn wifi off and on again.
-. maybe your 9090 port only accept connections from localhost, if you
set 9090 listening on 127.0.0.1:9090. you should set it listening on
0.0.0.0:9090 so other devices can connect. use windows command
netstat -l -n ( maybe, i forgot)
to see what address 9090 port is listening on.
to set it to 0.0.0.0, do it on putty. ( I don't know about putty)
-. firewall? no I don't think so , because your phone can successfully
connect to python server.

Hello mate,
I'm a noob with the whole scripts thing, I'm on windows 10. I came across your helpful script but sadly i can't get it to work.
I have a dedicated server that i wanted to setup an ssh tunnel on, I followed this guide: https://t3chguides.wordpress.com/2015/05/10/how-to-setup-a-ssh-tunnel-using-putty-and-firefox-from-windows/
It worked fine on firefox. Can you please explain the exact steps for me to get this to work on my iPhone?
I have my putty session running so I can browse using my server Ip.
Many thanks
