This is a practically prehistoric package. I didn't realize it was even visible in 0.2-release versions of Pkg. It definitely should not be visible to 0.3; METADATA was never updated to bump compatability. So I'm good with whatever needs to be done to make this invisible.

If you are fairly happy with "killing it", you could set the requires to only allow Julia 0.1 or lower to install it, I think.
JuliaLang/METADATA.jl#347 is also relevant to this

Are there any plans of "resurrecting" or updating it?

There are not. It's both a small amount of code and MIT licensed, so you're free to use or refer to it if you'd like to see it working again. It has served its purpose (mostly pedagogical) for me.

I see, thank you for clarification.

@mindbound it probably wouldn't be too much to make it work with Julia 0.3, if you wanted to fork it and bring it back into the package ecosystem.

@mindbound You can check the open issues (#2 and #3) for a lower bound on the work that would need to be done.
