Ledis

Ledis is a Redis-Protocol compatible server which provides a subset of Redis commands.
It uses FlatDB as the database backend that persists on disk.

Usage

Ledis runs very well on LuaJIT 2.1(recommended) and it supports Lua 5.1 to Lua 5.4.x though.

Run this with LuaJIT:

$ luajit ledis-server.lua

or this with Lua 5.1~5.4:

$ lua ledis-server.lua

Then it will listen to the TCP port 6379 on 127.0.0.1 (by default) and wait for Redis clients to connect.

Some options:

$ luajit ledis-server.lua --host 0.0.0.0
$ luajit ledis-server.lua --port 6379

Benchmark

Maybe it fits for local development or cases of low-load. Look at this.

TODO

Ledis is still in its early stage. It means it may be so buggy that you SHOULD NOT use it in production.

  • Improve performance
  • Implement more commands like AUTH
  • Make it robust enough for production environment
