App hangs when attempting to open menu #2915

When I try to access the menu in the upper left, there is a very brief flash (milliseconds) of what I think is probably the menu screen, then it disappears and returns to the main task list. However the app is now hung and there is no way out except to kill it. This occurs both from main app and from widget.

Problem observed on version 13.9.9 which I have just installed. Was previously on 13.8.1 which worked OK in this. Did not try the intervening versions.

I apologise that I can't get any relevant info out of the app because the menu is inaccessible, however this is the general environment:

Android 9 (latest available for my device)
Sony XZ1Compact (G8441)
GSF not in use. Tasks is syncing directly to Nextcloud using DAV.

Logcat captured during app open and attempt to access menu:

I hope this is sufficient to work with, please let me know if I can provide more diagnostics. Not an Android developer I'm afraid so not too familiar with these tools. Thankyou,

Thanks for the report. I've received a similar one from another Android 9 user. Unfortunately when I run this in an Android 9 emulator I can't reproduce. I'll try to figure out what is going on
