Google Drive backup without Play Services

Issue:
When attempting to access the Google Drive backup feature, users encounter a lack of notifications or hints, making it difficult to discern whether the action is successful or if there are any errors. I guess the reason is that my phone does not have GMS.

Expected Behavior:
Upon initiating a Google Drive backup, users should receive clear notifications or hints confirming the backup process or indicating any issues encountered.

Yeah unfortunately the app is using the google account picker and if there are no google accounts on the device nothing happens. I'm not sure if there is any way to detect this (it doesn't have permission to query google accounts itself). I could probably detect if play services are missing and not show the google drive option at all

I would like to use a web oauth flow so you can do this without play services, but don't know when I'll get around to this
