How to specify SpecFlow Generator version?

Is there a way to specify the generator version which is used to generate the .feature.cs files?
We are using Xamarin.UITest which currently only runs on Unit 2.6.4 therefore we have to use an old version of SpecFlow (1.4.0).
The files generated with this VS for Mac Addin do not compile because they are generated using SpecFlow Generator 2.4.0.

So, is there a chance to configure the used generator? I tried setting it in App.config

<generator path="...\..\packages\SpecFlow 1.4.0\Tools\TechTalk.SpecFlow.Generator.dll">

But the attribute "path" is not accepted.

The best fix is for AppCenter Test to support Unit 3! I've nudged the relevant people so lets see if they get that sorted.
