When editing long articles in a Bard field in fullscreen mode, which can take time and risk CSRF timeouts, the user needs to exit fullscreen to return to the entry and click save (revisions are enabled in our case), to ensure they don't lose work.

This interrupts the flow of writing.

It'd be great if a save button could be displayed in the top right of the fullscreen mode in Bard, so the user could just click that from time to time. Bonus points if there's a status reminder that there are changes that need to be saved, as there is in the right sidebar on the entry page.

It’s something we could consider, but in the mean time users can save with CMD+S. And you could extend the session length to a day or a week even and not have any of those fears.

Thanks. I've now extended the session length on your suggestions, and will remind people of CMD+S. 👍

I'd still also advocate for a visual save reminder of having the button and/or status.
