What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Saving/editing a newly created VPN entry.

Saving certs directly from the VPN screen work, but then editing that entry
(ca.crt) also causes this error. Error is akin to a FC but sends user direct to
VPN selection screen instead of home screen.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

After modifying a newly created entry I should - in theory - be able to save a
VPN setup and then run it. No saving is possible. All settings revert to back
the way they were with the exception of the VPN entry's name.

What mobile phone are you using?

Motorola Razr.

Which Android Version and stock ROM or aftermarket like cyanogenmod?

I'm using 4.0.4, not rooted.

Please provide any additional information below.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling app numerous times but with no
difference of effect. I'm told by my VPN host to simply keep trying and that
sometimes Android can be a pain. But having to enter all the information in
again and again is also a pain.

I've resorted to just editing, entering gibberish and trying to save. Hoping it
"takes." It doesn't, thus far only closes occur when trying to save. Cert
uploaded or not.

It isn't while I edit the cert specifically that the error occurs, sorry if I
was unclear. I mean it happens regardless if I append a cert to a VPN entry or
not. Whenever I try to save an entry it closes without saving, producing an
error. But let me walk through what I'm doing to explain it better...

1. Download it & open OpenVPN for Android.
2. Select, "All your precious VPNs."
3. Add entry: fill out name of VPN.
4. Edit entry using the toggle-like logo.
5. Under "Basic" filling out the following: server address is set to my VPNs
server, port is default over UDP protocol, LZO Compression is on, cert type is
a username and password, appended cert from a file on my sdcard and saved, CA
cert area says [[inline file data]]. Username & password filled out.
6. Go to hit the "save" button in upper right hand corner,
7. Error:

Unfortunately, OpenVPN for Android has stopped.
((Report)) ((Ok))

Sent report.

Upon returning to VPN screen, it says the VPN's name. When I hit edit to see if
anything saved, it did not save.

Thanks. I could reproduce the problem The "save" button as you call it should
be displayed as a "Trash" icon. To save the config simply use the back button.

Thank you so much for taking the time to help me, I apologize for my silly
question -- I think I need to go back to school to differentiate between a
garbage can and a disk looking thing for saving. :) The back button is a great
idea, more intuitive than I expected.

Your setup worked. App works great!

Thanks and good luck in the future.

No problem. You actually helped me quite much. I never knew how to trigger that
exception I saw on the market console (When you hit report I get a report on
the market console)
