General information

  1. Android Version: 7.1.2
  2. ROM: LineageOS
  3. Device: h815
  4. OpenVPN 0.6.73

Description of the issue

OpenVPN sometimes reports a wildly off throughput in the notification. I have experienced this on an unstable 3G connection:

I assume there is either something wrong with the calculation, or maybe it was 1 Mbit/s and then went back to Kbit/s, but didn't update the unit?

Is that problem also visible in the graph inside of the app or is it just the notification?

Sorry, it took me a while until I noticed again yesterday. It's also visible in the graph, see screenshots:

Is OpenVPN connecting/reconnecting while this happening? As these are always increasing peaks, it might that the bytecounter resets to 0 and then everything transfered so far is taken as difference.

OpenVPN status is "connected" while this happens, but it often reports 0bit/s just before this happens. Since this happens during bad network conditions, there might also be high amount of packet loss.
