To make issues more manageable, I would appreciate if you fill out the details if applicable

General information

  1. Android Version: 7.1.2
  2. Android Vendor/Custom ROM: LineageOS 14.1
  3. Device: OnePlus 2
  4. Version of the app (version number/play store version/self built): 0.6.73

Description of the issue

I have more than 40 OpenVPN profiles to import.

Importing each profile individually works without a hitch -- however, it is very tedious.

I would appreciate if one could select multiple files in the file import dialog and OpenVPN for Android would import all of them in one go. I do not need to configure any more options for each profile, so it would be sufficient if it just adds each profile without any further user input. This is a special case if more than one file is selected.

In what scenario do you need something like that?

VPN service providers often give out one config file per location.

Depending on your VPN provider this can easily result in dozens of config files. For example, Private Internet Access currently has 39 config files, and TigerVPN has about 60 config files.

So what about this issue? It is indeed VERY tedious.

In what scenario do you need something like that?

I have this scenario as well, together with hundreds of users of VPN providers.

I have the same problem. I googled for a solution and ended up here. Importing 12 config files individually by hand right now :(

That's why I don't use this app. So simple thing, but too critical to get by without.

@Suncatcher what vpn client do you use? (able to import multi profile directly)

@schwabe is there any work around (shell command maybe) how to connect per profile manually?

I would suggest to implement smth. like 'configs explorer'. Where could be possible to manage and even edit many .ovpn files, and also import/export from/to .csv file format !

Then use that client if you think it is better.
