[error] fatal: not a git repository (or any of the parent directories): .git
[error] Nonzero exit code (128) running git.
[error] (ghpagesUpdatedRepository) Nonzero exit code (128) running git.

after I delete the ~/.sbt/ghpages,it's okay again

I am having this problem too.

removing ~/.sbt/ghpages also seemed to clear it up for me
