Access to listening history

It'd be great to have a method to retrieve listening history. It could be used to synch data with listening services like last.fm or for analysis (you listened to 4.8 hours of dubstep in Q2 2012 - up 2 hours from the same period in 2011), music recommendations ("you might like..."), or social recommendations ("other people who like music like you are...").
