Issue description

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad E15 which usually connect to my external keyboard when I'm at home. When I use my external keyboard to use qtile shortcuts it works smoothly. But when I use my native laptop keyboard it is only recognized 10% of the time. I have the same issue also when I don't have an external keyboard plugged in. The strange thing is that without an external keyboard I can make it work sometimes if I spam mod+enter after reboot and log in. As soon as Terminals spawns it usually starts working ok (still flaky tho). My keyboard layout is neoqwertz but also tried using de instead (same problem)
What I have tried so far:

  • reboot
  • use the default config
  • change my keyboard layout from neo qwertz to de)
  • use qtile-git instead of the arch repo version

Also there are no logs regarding this in qtile.log.

As it is flaky I assume there might be a race condition somewhere concerning the keyboard inputs. As with my external keyboard, it is really working fine.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance!

Have you tried using xev to check what events the keyboard is actually sending? It does feel a bit like a hardware issue given the other keyboard works smoothly.
