By following a YouTube video by Richard Oliver Bray I was able to successfully get the app to open.

  1. Drag app to applications folder (likely not needed but I did)
  2. Right click open package contents
  3. Navigate to MacOS sub folder and find the file "Metacolor.Editor.XamMac"
  4. Open Terminal
  5. Type Chmod -x
  6. Hit space bar in terminal so you have a space after -X then Drag the file we found in step 3 into Terminal, hit enter
  7. If nothing happens, right click the app and chose open
  8. If it says the app can't be opened due to it being from an unidentified dev, it worked
  9. Open up system settings
  10. Navigate to Privacy and Security
  11. If step 8 prevailed, you should see an option to Open Metacolor Editor anyway and it will prompt your password

Enjoy getting out of Mac hell and going back in to gamma shift hell
