WHAT Needs to be Documented?

The steps you need to do when migrating to a different DB

WHERE Does This Need To Be Documented (Link)?

https://doc.owncloud.com/server/10.8/admin_manual/maintenance/

WHY Should This Change Be Made?

To help users and customer get it right. We already have a document describing migration to a different server, a guide to migrate to a different db would be great.

Rough first draft:

  1. Put server in maintenance mode
  2. Stop web server
  3. back up DB
  4. Import DB on new DB sever
  5. Edit your config.php
  6. start up your web server
  7. turn maintenance mode off

@erwinpalma maybe you want to add something I forgot.

Ok, that is migration of the DB from one host to another, but the type stays the same? That makes sense. I'd say migrating between different DB types would be way out of scope.
