Give notes a unique ID?

How do people feel about giving every note a unique id like org-id-get-create is doing it?

I'd like at least an option to toggle that behavior and I wonder whether it would generally simplify things to expect such an ID and create it for all notes that don't have one, e.g. #266

I haven't thought this through, especially regarding interactions with other tools like org-roam.
