@Mateorid this feature is unrelated with your issue.
this feature is about defining which field from the query is used to populate the source information in the map (there is a small icon "i" on the bottom right that is meant to show to the user where the data comes from)

the panel has been tested only with sql sources (as you can infer from the readme), not sure how much complex is to support the datasource you mentioned.

regardless, to understand how we can help:

  1. open a new ticket describing your need
  2. provide a docker-based re-produceable set-up with all needed data and configurations
