Files in these directories follow this naming convention: Office-Suite - Encryption Type _ Password Used _ . Extention The encryption type is often just the name given when saving if nothing about that encryption type is know by the author. The password used is surrounded by underscores, they are not part of the password. Each of the files created are from fresh install of each one of the Office suites. No patches, service packs or compatibility packs applied. While I do not code myself, I have located a number of resources about the encryption being used below: http:https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc313071%28v=office.12%29.aspx (MS-OFFCRYPTO) http:https://offcrypto.codeplex.com/releases/view/22783#DownloadId=57606 (C# ehh what can you do) http:https://www.microsoft.com/openspecifications/en/us/programs/osp/ooxml/default.aspx (Specifications) http:https://www.microsoft.com/openspecifications/en/us/programs/osp/office-file-formats/default.aspx (Specifications) http:https://www.lyquidity.com/devblog/?p=35 http:https://www.lyquidity.com/devblog/?p=85 http:https://www.password-crackers.com/blog/?p=16 http:https://www.password-crackers.com/blog/?p=34 http:https://www.elcomsoft.com/help/aopb/several_words_before.html http:https://www.securiteam.com/windowsntfocus/6K003150KG.html http:https://www.pdflib.com/knowledge-base/pdf-security/encryption/
