Steps to reproduce:

  1. visit a site with a sidebar menu like https://gothamist.com/tags/election-2021
  2. click hamburger menu icon
  3. close the sidebar menu
  4. hamburger menu icon is no longer there

Also reproduced on nypr-design-system v3.1.25
