Depends on where, on the switch for chinese and some other lanuages it should already be impemented offically in the settings. Supporting it on places such as the AtlasNX Discord would require people who know chinese or the language you're trying to support which can (probably) be a very small amount.

  • Supporting other languages means actually implementing multilanguage support into the code, which is not trivial (I've already looked into doing it and Sphinx is not super multilanguage friendly by default).
  • We would need dedicated translators willing to continually keep the guide updated as soon as a translation goes out of date every time. This guide has a lot of content, and it would be a serious undertaking for contributors to continually keep it up to date. That's difficult to ask of people who would be doing the work for free.
  • The Switch scene moves fast, it would be too easy for translations to go out of date when a firmware update suddenly drops or a major change is made to Kosmos/Atmosphere. Out of date instructions can lead to the guide being effectively useless, or worse, damaging people's Switches. We only know English (and German) fluently on our end so those are the only languages we could keep updated at a moments notice.
  • As Sun said above, supporting other languages might imply that we can help people in Chinese if they need support when we cannot.
  • It is difficult for us to verify that translations are clear and accurate when we do not natively speak the languages the guide is being translated to.

I'll keep this issue open though. It's not that there is no chance we will get the guide translated, there are just a lot of hurdles to overcome. Perhaps when the guide is closer to being "completed" we will look towards multi-language support.
