Publish Github tags for releases #412
Comments
@jean-christophe-manciot Thanks for the suggestion. The trouble with this for right now is that our Github repository is a read-only mirror of our Subversion repository, and our release branches are not mirrored. The code is always available in the source tarballs in https://nmap.org/dist/ . The commits you mention are really just version bumps to indicate that the development tree is now post-release and all changes ought to have been merged. Given these difficulties, would it still be helpful to tag these commits, given that they do not represent the actual code as released? |
Or you could migrate your code onto github ... |
There is no way - as far as I know - to be notified by github or sibbell when new commit comments such as "bump version for 7.12 version" show up.
Version tags would allow us to be notified when the sources related to a new release are available.
