Hi,
The GUI of 7.12 is completely useless because its unreadable. Just installed a fresh copy and the GUI looks like it's in greek on steroids.

This doesn't look like a translation issue, since the text is a simple substitution with the English (the capital letters are even the same). Do these strange characters show up when you type normal letters in any of the boxes?

Any idea what might be causing this, @W0naN0w?

the strange characters are also in the dropdowns

Thank you for your answer @Lefthandmedia ! Now what happens when you type into the input on the top left corner of the screen? (See the image below) Do these strange characters show up?
For example, type in google.com. Can you read it in your language or is it still in strange characters?

Hi it i still in strange chars. I typed in google.com as you requested.
My native language is dutch so we don't have strange chars. And my machine (Mac Pro,

@Lefthandmedia, as @dmiller-nmap said, it seems like an encoding issue. Could you open a Terminal and type in locale ? What is the output of the command ? It would also be useful to have the result of the env command

Thank you @Lefthandmedia! I suspect your fonts to be corrupted. Did you have any other problem like this with other tools/menu/apps on your mac? If it is the case, you should open Font Book.app, go to Preferences, check both checkboxes, then File—>Restore Standard Fonts. If it does not resolve your symbols problem, please make us know, and we will try to investigate deeper into your case.

I didn't have this problem with any other program. restoring standard fonts worked.
But is hardly a solution. it shouldn't happen in the first place.
