It seems like these are tie objects and not l.v. ties, right?
If that's the case, then this issue is more in line with a feature request that MuseScore supports import of hanging ties (which it currently does not).
But if these are made as l.v. ties instead, would that not fix the issue for you?

I guess that would sort the issue, I'm just not familiar with the difference between a hanging tie and a l.v. tie?

l.v. ties are basically just symbols (found on the articulations palette), not true ties internally.
