This error is not exclusive to this website (e.g. https://trello.com/signup); any time a user tries to "Sign up with Google" on any service, it fails with the following error: "disallowed_useragent". We will look into this. Thanks for finding this, @cynthiatang :)

@oliviabrown9 checking if TP off makes this work.

@oliviabrown9 please check if changing our UA fixes the issue - if they are blocking our UA, I will escalate with BD / Legal.

Very cool @oliviabrown9 - what was the root cause?

@Sdaswani Google changed their policy to stop supporting web view log in for apps in favor of having them use a native SDK (so an app wouldn't just load a web view to log into their app and would instead have a native log in with Google button. The change to the structure of our UA shows Google that we are a browser rather than an app that is trying to let users log into our own app.

Thanks @oliviabrown9 . any idea when this policy changed?

@Sdaswani Looks like they announced it here in Aug 2016 and started enforcing it in April 2017.

Wow not sure how we could have seen that message. We probably need somebody to build an automated test to check for this.
