App icon is not rendered. #1

It seems some other step is necessary to get the app icon to show up.

Is this only available if an app has been published to the App Store?
Would it be possible to create a dummy app with the icons, but no functionality, and submit that, but not publish it?

Safari is now showing the safari icon, if there is no iOS or macOS app registered with the project.
