Does this issue occur when all extensions are disabled?: Yes

  • VS Code Version: 1.90.1 (Commit: 611f9bf)
  • OS Version: Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Start the process of addressing a merge conflict.
  2. Try accepting any changes incoming/local, it crashes almost constantly.

Thanks for creating this issue! It looks like you may be using an old version of VS Code, the latest stable release is 1.90.2. Please try upgrading to the latest version and checking whether this issue remains.

Please help us out by providing a screen recording showing exactly what isn't working as expected. While we can work with most standard formats, .gif files are preferred as they are displayed inline on GitHub. You may find https://gifcap.dev helpful as a browser-based gif recording tool.

Creating a merge conflict using the affected version on the affected OS and then attempting to accept changes from local or incoming should reproduce the problem. I don't understand why that isn't clear enough?
