Scenario:

  • Dev A uses his mail address for the free trial
  • Team decides to get the paid version: Dev A, B and C will be added to the team
  • Team account is created, abo is started
  • Dev B and C can be added. Adding dev A fails with the message "Something went wrong: "Some contacts for new users are already used as account contacts: [email protected]"."

How can you add [email protected] as an user to the team account? (If the answer is you have to do it manually, you know how to reach me :-))

Great question, you are not the first - thanks for opening this issue.

The email has to be freed, before it can be added as a user to a team account.
There are two ways that can be done:

  1. Dev A goes to his account page, adds a new email, confirms the new email, and then removes the old email from his account.
  2. Alternatively Dev A can instruct me to delete their account.

Just have Dev A tell me his accounts email in case you prefer the second option via DM on twitter, email to [email protected], or on magento Slack (user @Vinai).
