How to call Python scripts from Indesign? #2
Labels
Comments
Python is not directly supported as a first party scripting language, so you cannot drop a python file in the scripts folder and have InDesign execute it. At the moment, the only way to script is via COM as demonstrated in the examples There's a feature request though to add support for Python in InDesign, you might want to go give your vote here |

Hi, I am really intrigued that your code makes python available for InDesign. Your examples show how to call InDesign functions from within python. But how do you call a script from InDesign? You probably can not just drop a python script into the script folder, right? Or is it only possible to start a new Document from within a python script? Could you perhaps add a few lines to your readme? Thank you, Michael
